This Week In School…
Year 3 – have finished some excellent explanation reports about the functions of the human body. They have also been practising their formal method of multiplication and applied it to a range of problems. Year 4 – have had a half sports day, Miss Bjorck was rocking her bucket hat! They have been recapping multiplication word problems in Maths and writing a funny adventure narrative using the character Hoot Owl in English – they are hilarious! Year 5 – have been finishing their leaflets on mountains and revising their maths skills. They have also spent time looking at human rights. Year 6 – have seen the completion of the amazing ‘Go-Givers project (including a fabulous Mini Fayre, run entirely by Year 6), culminating in a presentation at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre! This week's brainiac awards have been handed out for settling in well, excellent knowledge of muscles and bones and even the determination to make their work the best it can be! Great work everyone!
On Friday 14th July 2017, the Year 6 children will be visiting Paccar Scout Centre to take part in a number of activities to celebrate the end of their time at Iver Village Junior School. Activities will include climbing, archery and orienteering.

Unicef and Clarks have worked in partnership since 2008 to help keep children safe. In that time, Clarks have contributed to transforming children’s lives through ShoeShare, gathering old or unwanted shoes at collection points in more than 500 Clarks stores across the UK. To date, the partnership has raised an incredible £1 million. To support children across the world and help them access their right to education (Article 28), we will be hosting a ShoeShare collection. Click here for the full letter. This week's brainiac awards have been handed out for setting a great example to others, showing amazing growth in attitude and even rising to the challenge of include all of the features in the success criteria! This Week In School…
Year 3 – have had great fun on Wednesday with Water Fun Day! Especially Miss Couves and Miss Trainor! In English, they have been writing explanation texts all about the human body and its function. In Maths, they have been practising formal methods of addition and subtraction and applying them to problems. Year 4 – have had an amazing day for Water Fun Day too! Miss Bjorck and Miss Parveen thoroughly enjoyed getting the children with the water guns! In English, they have been writing fantastic playscripts for Jack and the Beanstalk and have done some work on multiplication and fractions in Maths. Year 5 – have started to write an information leaflet about mountains. They have researched them and spent time learning about how plates collide and how the millions of tears create ranges. Year 6 – have continued their amazing Go-Givers project, raising money and awareness of the charity First Touch. They are hoping to raise some money with today’s sponsored silence/sponsored run! Due to the extremely hot weather we are postponing Sports Day this week and moving it to Wednesday 28th June in the hope that there will be some cooler weather by then. We are very sorry if this causes you any inconvenience but I am sure you will understand that the welfare of the children must be our top priority.

This Week In School…
Year 3 – have grown their brains in Maths, investigating fractions and in English, writing independently to finish a picture book. In Humanities, they have loved finding out the continents and researching all about them. Year 4 – have been learning to interpret a variety of charts/graphs in Maths. The children have been finding similarities and differences between sets of data. In English, they have completed their writing about The Hobbit. They have been using powerful adjectives and interesting verbs! Year 5 – have been producing fairy tales with a twist from a different viewpoint. In Maths, they have been tackling time word problems. Year 6 – have had another busy week! They have completed their Community Cards project for PSHE and have written their Coraline stories in English. They have made huge progress with their Go-Givers projects and continued with rehearsals for their outstanding production, Dance Nation. You’re in for a treat!
