Year 6 - Chalfont Heights Scout Centre

Year 6 enjoyed a superb day in the sun at Chalfont Heights Scout Centre. The weather was perfect and the activities were varied and fun. Our children enjoyed archery, climbing and orienteering. It was a brilliant way to end their time in Year 6!

This week in school:
  • Year 3 – Have been designing and making their own board games and travel brochures and have really enjoyed learning their shadow puppet shows and mini beast songs.
  • Year 4 – Have been busy making their own news broadcast they really enjoyed filming and editing. They have also really enjoyed their trip to Hazard Alley Safety Centre.
  • Year 5 – Have really enjoyed learning how to use Sketchup to design their own virtual buildings as ICT architect.
  • Year 6 – Have had an amazing week, firstly with a fantastic performance of Mr Malone and ended the week with a brilliant trip to Chalfont Heights Scout Centre.

Year 6 Production - Mr Malone

Yesterday our fabulous Year 6 put on the most incredible production of 'Mr Malone'. It was a momentous occasion which was filled with laughter and high drama.

Thank you to everyone who came to watch and support their child - the atmosphere was electric!

Year 4 Food Events

Year 4 have a food filled few days coming up to celebrate Australia vs New Zealand and getting involved in some french activities, we need permission for the children to eat the food and details of any allergies or religious requirements.

This week in school:

  • Year 3 – Have been learning how to write and perform a rap. They have also enjoyed watching the Year 2’s performance at the Infants School.
  • Year 4 – Have really enjoyed writing recounts from the film La Luna from the little boy’s perspective.
  • Year 5 – Have been busy baking pizza and enjoying their class picnic!
  • Year 6 – Have been very busy putting the final touches to their performance of Mr Malone, ready for next week.

Years 5 & 6 Relationship Education

6/7/2015

 
Years 5 and 6 are due to start sex and relationship education. There will be a meeting held at 6.30pm on Monday 6th July 2015 for parents to attend to go through the programme and materials that will be taught.

This Week in School…

Year 3 – Have been writing letters to Anthony Browne since finishing the author study on him and been reading from the classic poem ‘From A Railway Carriage’ ready to work on their own poems next week.
Year 4 – Have been working hard on editing newspaper reports.
Year 5 – Have worked really hard learning about improper fractions and mixed numbers this week in maths.
Year 6 – Have been busy making costumes and rehearsing for Mr Malone.

Y2/Y3 Opening Evening - 1 July 2015

Thank you to all the Year 2 parents and children that came along to our open evening tonight. Even though it was very hot in 3G it was a great success and every parent/child went home with their own personalised induction pack.
