This Week in School:

  • Year 3 – Have learnt a lot about drowning prevention this week and have produced some great work, including comics based on water safety.
  • Year 4 – Have loved learning about DRHABC and making their welcome to the beach leaflets. 
  • Year 5 – Have really enjoyed learning how to reflect patterns and shapes in 2 lines of symmetry this week.
  • Year 6 – Have learnt about the dangers of water and how to stay safe, including a role play rescue session.

IVJS Weekly Bulletin - 19 June 2015

Last week was Sports week at Iver Village Junior School which saw the whole school up and
active getting involved in some new and exciting sports and athletics trials. The week included
learning dance routines from professionals, having a go at ULTIMATE Frisbee and all kinds of
sports. The week ended in Sports day on Monday, thank you to all the parents who attended
(and took part!), we know it helped make the day as brilliant as it was.

Sports Day - 15 June 2015

On Monday 15 June IVJS held their annual Sports Day on the field. The sun was shining, the children were ready and the parents were watching. It was a wonderful spectacle and a great day was had by all.

Congratulations to ADDLINGTON HOUSE who won the over all competition.

We also want to pay a special mention to all the parents who were brave enough to race; it was a fabulous spectacle.

This Week in School:

  • Year 3 – Have really made the most of the exciting sports activities planned this week and are now raring to go for sports day!
  • Year 4 – Have had an amazing week participating in all of the sporting activities.
  • Year 5 – Really enjoyed all of the activities this week, especially performing their South American dance.
  • Year 6 – Had a great time learning to play Ultimate Frisbee and really enjoyed learning the Cha Cha.

This week is Sports Week at IVJS.

Yesterday the whole school performed South American dancing in front of parents on the green outside the school.

Their chachacha and rumba skills will live long in the memory of everyone who was there!

This week in school:
  • Year 3 have been reading Voices in the Park and started their study on Antony Brown. They have also been looking at light and have found different sources of light.
  • Year 4 have started their geography topic on rivers and have enjoyed learning about the Water Cycle. They have also started their science topic about the digestive system and eating habits of animals.
  • Year 5 have enjoyed learning about and writing new scripts in English.
  • Year 6 have been busy writing film reviews for Bugsy Malone.
