The finishing touches were added to our giant rainbow today. The children were treated to Easter cup cakes from a lovely parent and even managed to do some marvellous maths.
The sun managed to come out once again and there was time for watering the plants and a football was kicked around. #rainbows #bettertogether #IVJS #homelearning We set some home learning before school closed and it is now the turn of Year 5 to share some of their work. Thanks to Mae who is pictured working through the pack given to her by school. She has also been enjoying Joe Wicks PE #PEwithJoe Thanks to Emily who has been researching Saturn using her iPad and typing it up as a PowerPoint presentation on her laptop. Therefore, a bit of Science and IT at the same time! Finally, Theo was working on a dot-to-dot that went up to 1000 - it took him 3 hours to complete! If you have any home learning that you would like to share then please e-mail your class teacher... Please click the 'Saturn' picture below to open up Emily's presentation.
We have received a number of exceptional examples of home learning - we could not be more proud of our students! Thank you Molly and Zac for sharing your learning at home with us all...
What are you doing at home? Please share any photos with your class teacher by email... Today we have had a lovely day - the children have enjoyed continuing to complete 'The IVJS Rainbow'. The weather continued to be glorious, therefore we played outside and completed a dot-to-dot up to 1000! They each showed great perseverance, focus and determination!
This week, Miss Rowe set Donaldson class a challenge. They had to design their own typeface. There were a few rules they had to follow, including using all of the letters in the alphabet and to have fun. The photographs sent in included letters shaped like koala bears, hand-drawn script and letters made from a geometric pattern. Miss Rowe even made one herself.
Have you checked out the updated "Home Learning Zone" on the Home Page of our website?

Here are a fine selection that were sent to Mrs Bowden. Keep sending them to your teacher! #rainbows #bettertogether
Today pupils at IVJS set to work creating a rainbow for the school windows! Although they had a few troubles with the wind blowing the paper all over the playground and a break for football with Mr Openshaw, they have made great progress! #rainbows #bettertogether
Check back each day for an update! On Tuesday the children started their day doing the daily work out with Joe Wicks #pewithjoe and the super Mr Hawkes. Miss Short even joined in and kept up with the rest of the group! As the weather was so wonderful the children spent the majority of the day outside playing a variety of games such as football, tennis, basketball.
We all had lunch together outside and in the afternoon the children, Miss Digweed, Mrs Goggins, Mr Hawkes and Miss Short did a spot of gardening in the sensory garden (the courtyard). To complete the day the children and the adults played a quiz led by Mr Hawkes. The children were absolute superstars and we had a thoroughly enjoyable day! |
