This Friday will be Clean For The Queen Day, we are seeking your support for the biggest ever clean-up of the country, which will be taking place in March 2016. In the run-up to The Queen's 90th birthday on April 21st 2016, we aim to inspire a million people to take action and enjoy a few hours together litter-picking to make the places where we live more beautiful. Year 3 – have been learning how to write their own play scripts. Buttercup Class have also been practising for their play. Year 4 – have been learning about how to write diary entries in the form of others. They have also started their new humanities topic about Kings and Queens of England. Year 5 – have written alternative versions of the Highwayman. Year 6 –have been describing two contrasting characters based on their visit from the author before half term. We are pleased to say that all Year 6 are doing really well in their Arithmetic practices. Click here for this week's bulletin. This week's Brainiac Awards have been handed out for great versions of The Highwayman, positive attitudes and Work of the Week worthy poetry. Wow!
Years 3 & 4 we need your help! I understand that many jobs and life commitments just don’t provide parents with the freedom to spend time in the classroom, however, if yours or a family member’s days are somewhat flexible, and you are able to give us a little time we would appreciate your help.

Swimming lessons are held at the Chalfont Leisure Centre on Fridays and transport is provided to and from the pool. Swimming will start on Friday 15th April 2016.

We would like to invite you to join us in helping your child to make the most of this special occasion. We are giving the children the chance to come into school dressed as their favourite literary character for the day on Thursday 3rd March 2016.

Year 3 – have been writing rhyming couplet poems about dragons and creating paper mache dragon masks! Daisy Class also performed their class assembly based on the New Zealand legend of Maui and the Sun. Year 4 – have been looking at poetry and have written their own versions of The Magic Box. Year 5 – have started using metaphors and writing narrative poems based on The Highwayman. Year 6 – have been finishing the retelling of The Dragon Slayer. They also enjoyed the visit from the author and cannot wait to start writing their own character stories after half term. Click here for this week's bulletin. This week's all new Brainiac Awards have been handed out for setting a good example, maintaining a positive attitude and even an incredible class assembly. Great job guys!
This week, Daisy Class performed an assembly based on the New Zealand legend, Maui and the Sun which is about how Maui slowed the Sun down to make more time in the day.
