During the past few weeks the children in Years 5 & 6 have been practising for a summer show: Fagin’s Boys. Performances of this will take place on Tuesday 5th July at 1.30pm and Wednesday 6th July at 6.30 pm. The tickets will cost £1 per ticket. The tickets guarantee admission but we are not allocating seats and there will be some standing space in order to accommodate as many people as possible.

We would like to update everyone as to the situation currently here at the Junior School. We currently have contractors from the council out to help rectify the situation and get our school back to normal as soon as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience today, further information will be posted once we know more.
Thank you. IVJS took part in the competition 'My favourite place in Iver', a competition organised by Iver Parish Council for the classes in the Iver Schools Cluster. We are very proud to say, out of everyone, our very own Daisy Class won!
Everyone had so many places in Iver that were their favourite that Daisy Class couldn't choose just one, so they decided to incorporate them all into one big image. They chose a daisy flower because it is their class at school (one of their favourite places) and they each drew their favourite place on a petal and it was coloured in beautifully. In the end, they had created two daisies that were able to demonstrate all of the amazing places in Iver that Daisy Class love. This week, both our Year 5 classes got to visit the Tesco store in Gerrards Cross as part of their Farm to Fork initiative. The children got to learn all about healthy eating, where food comes from, food hygiene and so much more. Everyone got to try some new foods and we even had our own check out staff by the end of the morning!
This week in school…
Year 3 – have written Viking myths using speech and have started a scientific experiment about how light affects plant growth. Year 4 – have been creating some very suspenseful pieces of writing about being an astronaut landing on an unknown planet. They have also been budgeting for a new dinosaur park and learning about the effects of earthquakes. Year 5 – have been to Tesco and met the fishmonger, tried a variety of cheese including chilli and lime cheese and were lucky enough to become a check out assistant and scan in their shopping. It was a great morning! Year 6 – have been using their creative writing skills to plan a detailed play script for a scene in Oliver! In Maths, they have also been using number combinations in real life situations in order to solve mathematical problems. Click here for this week's bulletin. On Friday 15th July 2016, the Year 6 children will be visiting Paccar Scout Centre to take part in a number of activities to celebrate the end of their time at Iver Village Junior School. Activities are yet to be finalised, but could include climbing, archery and indoor caving.
