This week's Learning Warrior awards have been given out for writing fantastic fantasy stories, making excellent progress in English and Maths and even for incredible effort and determination making sure the class assembly was fantastic!
Well done Learning Warriors! This week in school…
Year 3 – have continued learning about instructional writing and created instructions for board games in English. In Maths, they have been learning about fractions and have also been practicing lots for the Christmas play. Year 4 – have been studying art work by Georges Seurat. In English, they have written a newspaper report as if Seurat’s painting, ‘The Bathers’, was stolen from the National Gallery. They have also looked at multiplication using the grid method. Year 5 – have been writing their own fantasy stories in English. Daffodil class have been practising their class assembly which they performed wonderfully yesterday. Year 6 – have started writing newspaper reports in English making sure they use the correct layout, past tense and a mixture of direct/reporting speech. Click here for this week's bulletin. This week, our Year 5 Class, performed a fantastic assembly based on how the Fantail Bird got her tail.
The Children wrote and produced their own play and even made their own power point presentation to help tell the story! Our own Mr Clifford was quoted saying “Excellent acting and narration!” Well done Daffodil Class! Choir members who are attending Iver Parish’s ‘Christmas Lights Event’ this Saturday will need to meet Miss Digweed by the front doors of the Iver Village Infants School at 2pm.

This week, both our Upper School Netball and the Lower School Football teams won their matches against their equivalent teams from Marish Primary School. With phenomenal scores of 6-1 to IVJS in the Netball match Monday and 5-0 to IVJS on Tuesday, we will have to keep our eyes open for these sporting stars for the future! Well done!
One of our Year 6 students, Jacob, has had his Maths Book chosen as an example of what an exemplary work book should look like. He was awarded with a prize and his achievement has been celebrated in both Year 6 and all other year groups. Well done Jacob!
It is our Open Day today and we are looking forward to welcoming you to our lovely school.
There are 2 times: 9.30-10.30 am 5.00-6.00 pm This week our amazing Eco-Council visited Grundon’s energy waste facility where they learnt how household rubbish, that cannot be recycled, is turned into electricity. They got the opportunity to design their own working wind turbine and learn more about renewable energy sources.
