Believe, Achieve, Succeed Together

Picture
IVJS is a co-educational junior school for pupils aged 7 to 11, serving Iver Village and Richings Park. It is situated at the heart of our community.

The school currently has 210 children on roll, divided into eight classes: two classes for each year group.

The school is also divided into Lower School (Y3 and Y4) and Upper School (Y5 and Y6).

Vision, Values and Ethos

At IVJS our vision is to create a secure and stimulating learning environment where all achievement is valued and celebrated. We uphold the rights of the child and ensure all children feel valued, respected and included. We set high standards of learning where children will be valued for their individuality and culture.  We want our children to understand and take an interest in the world around them, their heritage and their future.  We aim to ensure that every child reaches their full potential and we promote a growth mind set.

At IVJS our aim is to help all children develop their knowledge, skills, qualities, attributes and attitudes in order to become life-long learners.  We believe that we should be inspiring a lifelong love of learning and we should develop children so that they become independent learners that are ready to take their place in society in an informed, positive and active way.

The school aims to achieve this by:
•             providing a safe, secure and stimulating environment
•             teaching a broad, balanced and challenging curriculum
•             using a rich, up-to-date and varied range of learning resources
•             having an ethos of support, challenge and encouragement to succeed
•             having an active partnership between school, home and the community
•             promoting high standards of behaviour and attendance
•             developing every child’s self-confidence and resilience that they need to manage change and challenge.

At IVJS we have 6 core values which underpin the school and these are:
•             Respect
•             Consideration
•             Perseverance
•             Honesty
•             Commitment
•             Positivity

The children attend regular assemblies where these values are discussed and celebrated.

We: the staff, parents and governors strive for continuous improvement in all that we do.
