This week in school…
Year 3 – have had an exciting week with their Science Museum visit, they have been writing letters in Literacy to their friends and family telling them about all the exciting things they have learnt about forces and how they became scientists creating their own hovercrafts! Year 4 – have been writing a narrative including speech to bring their characters to life. They have also looked at multiplication using the formal column method and begun applying it to problem solving. Year 5 – have continued their mountains topic and created a leaflet persuading visitors to trek through the Alps. Year 6 – have been learning to improve their techniques when answering SATs style questions. Click here for this week's bulletin. This week's Brainiac Awards have been handed out for amazing positive changes in behaviour, helping to encourage fellow students and even a fantastically descriptive narrative! Great work guys!
Year 5 have the exciting opportunity to go behind the scenes in Tesco, to gain an insight into the life of a supermarket, which is very different to the experience of shopping as a customer. Daffodil class will be going Thursday 16th June while Snowdrop class will be going Tuesday 21st June. Both classes will be leaving at around 9:15 and returning to school for their normal lunch arrangements.
Click here to view the full letter. This week, we had some very exciting visitors come in to see our Year 3 and Year 6 pupils. We got to learn all about Forces and the Missions to Mars. The children got to make hovercrafts and rocket launchers to test the science behind these wonders of the world.
Key Stage 2 SATs week starts Monday 9th May 2016. Detailed below is the timetable of tests for the week, we will be opening the school diner at 8:15am where we will serve a choice of cereals or toast and a glass of orange juice or milk. There will be no cost for the breakfast.

Year 3 – have been learning about the Romans. They have used books and computers to find important facts to create an information booklet. Year 4 – have been writing about newspaper articles, reporting on Birds of Prey Day. They have also begun their topic on volcanoes, looking at tectonic plates and how volcanoes are formed. Year 5 – have started to learn about mountain regions around the world. Year 6 – have been creating leaflets on visiting Orlando, Florida linked to their topic last term. Click here for this week's bulletin. This week's Brainiac Awards have been handed out for perseverance, great focus and even pushing the boundaries of learning. Great job guys!
This week, our wonderful Daffodil class achieved 100% attendance for the week! They were the proud winners of the extra special biscuits, served on a gold plate for their efforts. We should also mention that they also had no late marks for the week across the class, fantastic effort Daffodils! Who will be the next class to reach the magic 100%?
This week, Rose class went to visit Pizza Express in Windsor. They made their own delicious pizzas and learnt all about where ingredients come from and how much work goes into making some of their favourite foods!
