As part of our exciting curriculum we have invited Gripping History in to teach the children about Early Saxon Britain on 12th September. Throughout the day the children will get to explore settlements, prepare for a voyage and have a go at some Anglo-Saxon Monk writing.

Throughout the day the children will get to explore clothing, tools and pottery used in Prehistoric periods as well as comparing Neolithic homes (Prehistoric period) with their own.

We have had such a busy year and this last half term has been particularly busy with Ofsted and a flood!! We are very proud of all our pupils who have handled the challenges of the flood with real maturity. County surveyors met with us yesterday and have said that the work will not be finished until at least the end of October.

of the Year 5s who provided the chorus line to back up the show. Well done to everyone who took part, everyone here at IVJS is so proud of all your hard work and effort, we all know each and every one of you will go far, regardless of what you do or where you go. This week in school…
Year 3 – have been using their investigation skills in Maths to see if the length of their legs determines how far they jump. They have also been learning about the different morals in Aesop’s Fables. Year 4 – have been working extra hard on their P.E., gearing up for athletics. In class, they have been writing amazing descriptive narratives about a world with only one robot in it. Year 5 – have become film reviewers and analysed The Lego Movie. Year 6 – have had an amazing week with their Fagin’s Boys production, they were fantastic! They are now busy designing their own parks. Click here to view this week's bulletin.
