This week, we opened our library doors to parents and children who came along and enjoyed reading a book whilst sipping some tea and eating biscuits.
We were so impressed with the turn out and we would like to thank everyone who joined in! I think you will agree that reading really does rock! With the success of last year’s children’s art gallery, we are thrilled to announce that it’s back this year with a very wintery theme! The children have spent some of their art lessons learning about different styles of work and produced some fantastic display pieces which are too good to keep to ourselves. We will be displaying these this Friday night at the PJs and Hot Chocolate evening and again next week, on Tuesday 5th December and Wednesday 6th December, in our school library from 3.15pm each night and before the Lower School Productions. We’re excited to announce the details of our Christmas Carol Concert on Wednesday 13th December! This will be an evening of songs and instruments to get us all in the Christmas spirit. We’d love to have as many children there as possible, your child does not need to be in the choir. We are thrilled to announce the school's new financial ambassadors! Our fabulous four have undergone training in record keeping, currency collection, counting and sorting! For each charity event that the school runs, our financial ambassadors will be on hand to collect donations and count the cash for charity!
These financial ambassadors are getting first hand experience of managing money and understanding the concept of expenditures and profit. They have learnt how to organise the takings from the book fair so it can be taken to the bank. IVJS played their second league game against St Peters from Burnham before resting up to continue after Christmas! IVJS played with tremendous determination and skill eventually winning the game 3-1!
IVJS currently sit top of the league table. Men of the match: Tino and Calum The Year 5 girls had an amazing time learning new skills such as dribbling, kicking and ball control. They spent the afternoon practising these skills, as well as using formation to strengthen their teams as they played a mini match. The coaches were very, very impressive by the enthusiasm and skills these girls had!
