This Week In School… Year 3 – have been completing their Iron Man descriptive poems. In Maths, they have continued finding the perimeter of shapes. Year 4 – have been writing poetry in English, focusing on rhyming, alliteration, similes and metaphors. Year 5 – have finished their news script based on a chapter from A Boy and a Bear in a Boat. They are currently acting out their news reports. In Maths, they have been revising line graphs and tables. Year 6 – have been reading the rest of their book, The Last Wild, which they are really enjoying. They have also done some drama, acting out scenes from the book. Having worked hard on their assessments in Reading, Grammar, Spelling and Maths last week, the children have been reviewing them this week. As is tradition at Iver Village Junior School we have a party at the end of the term to celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of the next. This year, the parties will be held on the afternoon of Tuesday 19th December. Any fantastic party needs food and we would be very grateful if you could help contribute. So that we don't get too much of one type we ask you to bring specific items (the teacher will have written the items on the paper copy of the letters sent home). Have you heard? ... The last two days of term are going to be very exciting ones! We have so much planned that your children will be ever so excited to come into school before the holidays. So what will they be doing? We will have our books and baking days! The idea is to spend the morning or afternoon baking and then the children can enjoy their wonderful creations whilst you read them a story or two.
Thank you for your understanding today, the school will be OPEN tomorrow, Tuesday 12th December.
Due to the adverse weather conditions we are very sorry to announce that we will be CLOSED on Monday 11th December. Please check back for updates.
Please click the Bucks Closure list here to check for any planned updates. We have finalised the after school clubs for next half term. They will start the Monday 8th January and will run till the last week of the half term, on Thursday 8th February (5 weeks).
Pupils will be allocated club places on a first come/first served basis, all bookings will be taken via our online forms or by calling the school reception (the school will send a text confirmation of booked places). Please note, we reserve the right to withdraw unpaid places, only then, their places will be given to children on the waiting list for that club. Children in school after 3.15pm on these evenings without a paid place in the club will be placed in Bluebells until picked up, with parents invoiced accordingly. The club timetable is below, please click on the table to book. Today 7 children from Year 6 Choir visited St Peter's Church to see the Iver Christmas Tree Festival. They made an excellent impression on everyone who was present in the church. |
