This week's Learning Warriors awards have been given out for incredible Maths work, fantastic ideas with the class' story writing and even being a fantastic role model! Well done to all our Learning Warriors this week. This week in school…
Year 3 – have been learning about writing instructions in English class. They have tried out some of their instructions and found out they are a lot harder to write than they thought! It was a lot of fun. In Science, they have been learning about reflections and used mirrors to create hidden messages. Year 4 – have begun learning about the essential features of newspaper reports. In Maths, they have been broadening their knowledge of subtraction strategies. Year 5 – have investigated materials that conduct electricity and could be used for the brightest football floodlights. Year 6 – have been carrying out a fair test to see what happens to materials when you add them to water. Click here for this week's bulletin. On behalf of the Iver Village Infant & Junior Schools, FISA have organised a textile collection with Bag2School in order to raise funds for Friends of Iver Schools Association.

We had some amazing costumes in school and our bake off was such a success, we are sure we will see some of our budding chefs on the real thing in a few years!
Here are this week's Learning Warriors!

Year 3 – have been creating their own modern day fairy tales and created poppies using pointillism for Remembrance Day. Year 4 – have been learning about myths. They have created a ferocious mythical creature scene between it and their hero. In Maths they have looking at addition using a variety of methods and applying their skills to problem solving. Year 5 – have been writing stories based on The Bathers at Asnieres by Seurat. Year 6 – have been writing a biography of their chosen artist, Georges Seurat. Click here for this week's full bulletin. Yesterday our school commemorated Remembrance Day with an assembly based on why we remember. The assembly ended with a 2 minutes silence, marked by the chimes of our school bell.
We have had some amazing volunteers this week that have helped sell poppies to raise money for The Royal British Legion. As a thank you, The Royal British Legion have very kindly given every child in the school a poppy appeal snap band ruler! We are currently looking to fill a vacancy in our team of Parent Governors. A letter has gone out with details of how to apply.
