This Week In School…
Year 3 – have finished their stories in English, which describe the journey of a pebble over time. In Maths, they have been developing their understanding of expanded addition and started to apply this to different problems. Year 4 – have predicted and written the ending of The Tin Forest. In Maths, they have worked on written methods of addition and subtraction. Their topic lessons have included learning about digestion and the Earth’s layers. Year 5 – have concluded their narrative about The Journey this week. In Maths, they have looked at adding and subtracting large numbers using the column method. They have experimented in science looking at which substances would dissolve, react or sink/float when mixed with water. Year 6 – have begun looking at the book, Shackleton’s Journey and have written a recount of a memorable journey. In Maths, they have recapped their understanding of addition and subtraction and applied it to problem solving. In Science, they have continued to learn about the eye and how it allows us to see.
