This Week In School… Year 3 – have persevered with learning the expanded column method of addition in Maths and in English, they have been writing to local MP to persuade them to help the local environment of Iver. Year 4 – have been looking at writing a persuasive letter and what they need to include to write one. They have also travelled back to ancient Rome to learn about Roman numerals in Maths and have started looking at teeth in Science. Year 5 – have been learning all about Roman numerals, they even learned how to write the date and their birthdays! In English, they have started their narrative writing on The Journey, especially focusing on expanding their descriptive vocabulary. Kipling have had great fun designing their own Ancient Greek Lyre in DT (which they begin constructing next week!), whilst Morpurgo have been working equally as hard in Art creating designs for their Ancient Greek pots. Year 6 – have had a busy week this week! In English, the children have worked hard to publish their story openings from a variety of genres and in Maths, they have been developing their skills using addition and subtraction. On Wednesday, Year 6 represented the rest of the school when they accompanied the Infant School to Iver Village Church for Harvest Festival, delivering all of the donations from our school. They have also learnt more about online safety after watching a short production from a Theatre company. As well as this, a few of the children have been taking part in Bikeability where they have improved their cycling skills. Phew! Comments are closed.
