This Week In School… Year 3 – have completed their poems describing the Tin Forest and have used some fantastic descriptive language. In Maths, they have been using and applying the expanded method for addition Year 4 – have been consolidating their place value knowledge by solving reasoning problems and have begun working on adding numbers with up to 4 digits in Maths. In English, they have finished writing their adventure narratives about Varjak Paw’s quest to find a dog and in Science, they have begun learning about teeth and what each type of tooth is for! In French, they have been learning how to count all the way to 100 in tens! Year 5 – have continued learning about China and it's land use in Humanities. They have been tackling tricky trial and error problems in Maths and focusing on negative numbers. In PSHE, Year 5 have been learning about how to keep their bodies healthy while in English, the classes have been looking at different sentence openers to help them write a narrative based on The Journey. Year 6 – have been focusing on their Humanities topic of Brazil. They have learnt about the physical geography of the country, the Amazon Rainforest, deforestation, urbanisation and what it is like to live in one of the Brazilian cities. In English, the children have started reading 'The Last Wild', by Piers Torday, which will be the basis of their writing for the next few weeks. They are starting with writing an escape story and are in the process of planning this at the moment. Comments are closed.
