This Week In School… Year 3 – have been writing an informal letter using The Ringing, Singing Tree story. The children have been writing in role as the prince from the story. In Maths, they have been revising fractions and looking at unit and non-unit fractions. Year 4 – have been investigating area in Maths and have used different measuring instruments to measure regular shapes on the playground. In English, they have been writing the next chapter for their story Noah Barleywater Runs Away. In Humanities, they have been investigating the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb by Howard Carter. Year 5 – have started the week with an amazing trip to Royal Albert Hall with 21 students for the Echoes Project - the students did an amazing job singing and learning about refugees and how we can all support others around the world. Throughout the rest of the week, they have worked on e-mails, convincing their Cosmic character Liam to go to space (or not), mastering decimals and understanding how the world has day and night. Year 6 – have been finalising writing non-chronological reports about how we see things in Science - they have certainly shown everyone how much they have learnt so far about the topic of light. In English, the children have caught up with their book Rooftoppers and we have now nearly finished reading it - but not before they have written their own ending to the story! They have continued to look at Rivers in their Humanities topic and this week focused on erosion and deposition. Comments are closed.
