This Week In School…
Year 3 – have started reading The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. They have written exciting diary entries from the perspective of Hogarth! They have also focused on using descriptive language. In Maths, they have worked on applying their learning to a range of problems. Well done Year 3s for completing your first half term here as juniors! Year 4 – have learnt strategies to multiply and divide numbers and explained factor pairs in Maths. In English, they have finished reading The Tin Forest and explained the differences between the settings. Year 5 – have written a description about the Kraken in English. They have looked at mentally multiplying numbers in Maths and in Science; they have had a look at flammable objects and how to be safe around these items. Year 6 – have been writing an informal letter in character, pretending they are a crew member on Ernest Shackleton’s ship Endurance. In Maths, they have learnt how to solve calculations using long division. Their class assembly was a great success this week too, they would like to thank everyone who came in to watch.
