This Week In School… Year 3 – have been looking at perimeter in Maths and using their measurements to plan out a suitable cage for a dinosaur! In English, they have been completing their instruction manuals about how to build a den. They have also been looking at ancient Stone Age cave paintings in Art, creating their own using pastels. Year 4 – have worked really hard to complete their final narrative of the year. Their fantasy stories tell the tale of three children's journey to a new land and the events that take place on their battle to return home. Not only have they published their story but they have also designed a front cover and a blurb to accompany their writing. In Maths, they have continued to work with coordinates and have been looking at translation of a shape on a grid and plotting coordinates to form different polygons. Year 5 – have finished up their news report videos in English and watched them as a year group (they are absolutely brilliant). In Maths, they mastered decimals and finished off their last learning objectives of Year 5, woooo! In DT, they tried and evaluated delicious breads and came up with ideas of how they could change it next time! Overall they've had a fantastic week wrapping up all of their subjects (and having a little fun in-between). Year 6 – have had a huge week and should be very proud of themselves after their fantastic performances for their end of KS2 production. We are certainly very proud of them all for all the effort they have put in and it has been great to see them singing, dancing, acting and even performing circus tricks as they showed us their Greatest Show! In Humanities the children have been finishing off their information leaflets about the Mayan Civilisation; and in Science they have completed an investigation measuring their heart rate before and after exercise.
