![]() This Week In School… Year 3 – have explored the features of poetry and begun to plan a descriptive poem about the changes of the Tin Forest. In Maths, they have continued to practice their written methods for calculations and begun to apply them to different situation including finding change. Year 4 – have continued looking at addition this week in solving problems using both the formal method and the expanded method. In English, they have been exploring narrative description using fronted adverbials and expanded noun phrases. In Science, they began their scientific experiment, questioning the effect of different drinks and liquids on teeth. They’ve even begun discussing the Christmas production (shhhh… we know it’s early). Year 5 – have started to research the Syrian Refugee crisis and how it has affected many children and families. They used that research to begin writing newspaper articles related to their class book - The Journey! They're also continuing to work on materials in Science, subtracting in Maths and mountains in Humanities! This week, we also did a project on kindness in our classroom, where we learned how far a little kindness can go. Year 6 – have been working hard with their assessments in Reading, SPaG and Maths. They have also been completing their own escape stories, which so far have been very pleasing to read. They enjoyed taking part in the Inter-house dodgeball and some of the children have put themselves forward for House Captain roles; well done to all of those who gave their speeches in front of the rest of their house.
