This Week In School… Year 3 – have continued to practice the expanded multiplication method and started to apply it to a range of problems. In English, they have finalised their persuasive letters to Mr Hogarth. They also enjoyed their first British Values day this week! Year 4 – have been learning how to use bar models to help solve word problems. They have focused on using the words whole and part to write stem sentences. They have also been learning about the key features of an informal letter and how to write an informal letter to Varjak Paw (the main character from our Power of Reading book). Year 5 – have been learning about long division and then in English, completing their write up of their science experiment relating to mentos and Diet Coke. Year 6 – have been enjoying more of their book, The Last Wild, and have been preparing to write their own escape story in English. In Maths, they have been re-visiting fractions and have been looking at simplifying and ordering fractions. They also enjoyed a great Science lesson where the children had the opportunity to take part in the dissection of a pig's eye! Comments are closed.
