This month the article from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child is Article 28.
It is all about how every child has the right to an education. We are so lucky and fortunate to be able to come to school free of charge. In many countries children still are not able to go to school or it is not free so they can’t afford to go. By not going to school children miss out on learning to read, write and doing basic maths skills. So when they are older they find it difficult to find good jobs. We want all the children at our school to leave being confident in these aspects but also we want them to develop skills that will support them to be good confident citizens in their future work and family lives. This months article is Article 28: -Your right to learn and go to school Every child has the right to an education. Primary education must be free. Discipline in schools must respect children’s human dignity. Wealthy countries must help poorer countries achieve this. Talk time!
