Miss Digweed's December Update

As we head towards the end of term we need to begin to think about Christmas and the new rules which come into force this week. Buckinghamshire is in Tier 2.  The two most important rules are:

• you must not socialise with anyone you do not live with or who is not in your support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place
• you must not socialise in a group of more than 6 people outside, including in a garden or a public space – this is called the ‘rule of 6’.

The holidays are fast approaching when we are all hoping to be able to spend time with our families and so we would urge you to take extra precautions and limit how many contacts you have.  There will only be a week once we break up until Christmas Day so it is really important that we all try to limit who we have contact with.
This term we have missed out on all of our traditional Christmas preparations due to the Covid restrictions and so we have had to adapt and create new traditions! 

• Christmas Jumper Day is coming up but this year we are going to wear our jumpers for the next 3 Fridays!  The children can wear a Christmas Jumper or any warm, cosy jumper on 4th, 11th, and 18th December.  The official Christmas Jumper Day is on Friday 11th December and we will be collecting donations for the charity Save the Children.

• Carol Concert.  We usually have a sing-along at our local Church but of course this has been cancelled.  So instead we have learnt to sign some Christmas songs!!  Miss Rowe is producing a short film featuring all of the children signing and this will be sent out to parents in the next couple of weeks.  Hopefully, you will sing and sign along to the songs at home!

• Kindness.  John Lewis have made another lovely Christmas advert but we have made an even better one!  This term we have been discussing what kindness means to the children and we have made a film of their ideas.  We will be sending this out to you very soon!

• Christmas treat.  This year we are going to have an afternoon in the hall (in our bubbles) with hot chocolate, a film and popcorn!  The children are exhausted and for some year groups, and for some individual children, they have been in and out of school due to Covid.

• Living Advent Calendar.  We are taking part in the Iver Living Advent Calendar and our window will be lit up soon!
