They have worked hard in Maths and learnt the column method for subtraction and some children have even challenged themselves and learnt to exchange! Year 4 – have been writing diary entries on the Tin Forest in the role of the old man. In Maths, they have learnt the written method of addition and subtraction. They have also begun learning all about Volcanoes! Year 5 – have been revising rounding and estimating in Maths. They have also begun to write their own newspaper article about the refugee crisis. Year 6 – have been learning more about Ernest Shackleton and his crew members on the ship Endurance. They have empathised with his crew and written a fact file in role. In Maths, they have continued to recap their understanding of multiplication. Click here for this week's bulletin. Thank you to all the parents/carers who attended our Coffee Morning to discuss the IVJS Reading Revolution! Today’s turnout was fantastic with governors and parents representing every year group of our school. We discussed a range of topics including Power of Reading, Class Authors and the End of KS2 expectations! As you are aware, the year 6 children staying at school for non-PGL activity week are due to visit Bekonscot Model Village on Tuesday, 10th October and Wingroves Farm on Thursday, 12th October (morning only).
