Return To School Information

5/9/2022

Return to School on 6th September 2022:

A very warm welcome back to school for 2022/2023 on Tuesday 6th September at 8:45am.

Before and After School:
In the mornings, children will arrive at school where their classroom doors will be open from 8:40am – all children need to be in school by 8:45am otherwise they will be deemed as late once registration closes.
At the end of the day, children will be dismissed from the grass at the front of school and the timings will stay the same.  Please wait behind the white line for your child to be dismissed.
  • 3:15pm Years 3 and 6
  • 3:20pm Years 4 and 5
We would like to encourage as many older children in Year 5 and 6 to walk home. If you would like your child to walk home from school then please contact Miss Lainsbury on the front desk to arrange for an online form to be completed.
The school office will remain closed to parents for the time being, if you need to contact Miss Lainsbury, please give the office a call, send an email or speak to a member of staff outside before and after school.

Wraparound Childcare at IVJS – new for September 2022:
Our After School childcare club, Bluebells, will run from 3.15 - 5.30pm in the Lower School shared learning area. Breakfast club will be in our Diner each morning 7.30am - 8.30am.  Please see our childcare club page for further details.  Please note places must be booked and paid for at least 24 hours in advance.

Illness:
If your child is too ill to attend school you must notify the school office each morning.  This can be done by calling 01753 653059 or by emailing the school office, [email protected]

Attendance:
As you will be aware, schools are held accountable for children’s attendance. All children are expected to attend school unless they are ill (holidays will not be authorised). Punctual attendance is essential for effective learning, promoting positive relationships and developing good attitudes to education. Good attendance is considered above 95%, or approximately no more than one day of absence each half term.

Break-time snacks:
At break times children are welcome to bring a healthy snack (fruit/cereal bar) to eat at breaktime – please note that children will not be allowed to eat crisps and chocolate bars.
