Everyone at IVJS has been missing the pupils so much that they decided to record a message! This week, some of year four have been busy designing (and making) a machine/robot of their own imagination. We even had a submission from a parent - a machine that turns grumpy children into happy children! This week we had a big focus on learning new skills that will last a lifetime. There has been lots of baking, cooking, learning to tie shoe laces and telling the time. There has even a spot of DIY done, all the while they have been completing the work set and tasks on Purple Mash. Miss Rowe has been very impressed with the level of maturity and the standard of work she’s been receiving.
Even Hugo & Ralph have their one walk a day for exercise ...
What exercise do you do everyday? Please e-mail your class teacher with photos and suggestions... #ivjs #hugoandralph #dogs #exercise Even the teachers can go home and do some home learning!
After they made Pizza Swirls at school, Mrs Kaur went home and tried the recipe herself ... she loved them and enjoyed trying something new! Would you like to make them at home? Recipe to follow later today... Yesterday, we started the morning with posters and their project. We watered the plants and played a basketball game. The adults have been making sure we get our 10,000 steps by the end of each day!
In the afternoon, we made pizza swirls and chocolate swirls for dessert. The recipe will be coming out later today... Totally delicious!! To finish off the day , we have been making bookmarks and coasters. Have you missed Hugo and Ralph? Well they are back and really enjoying their home learning...
What home learning are you doing today? Please email your class teacher... Year 6 have been busy - thank you to Scarlett and Lola for their amazing Rainbows! They look fantastic.
Holly has been working on a piece of art that is based on one of the tasks Miss Rowe set - but is a portrait of how Holly sees herself as an adult. Thank you Holly for this future masterpiece! Great day at school today! Mrs Jaques and Mrs Kaur have spent the morning putting the rainbow up in the Diner window. Please come and check it out - it looks very impressive indeed!!
Miss Digweed has been doing lots of fun stuff with the kids today - including completing the 'We will get through this' posters to laminate and put on the fence. The children have also watered all the outdoor plants, collected the indoor plants and watered those too. Children have continued working on their projects. Today it is the turn of Browne Class, who have kindly shared their home learning with us...
Thank you Zoe for her Rainbow picture and to Callum who has been busy baking and completing his Maths homework. Well done to you both! Jake has also written in to say that he has continued with PE with Joe! He has completed the reading comprehension in his exercise book too. However, his favourite thing is getting time outside in the garden and playing some of Mr Hawkes games as a family. Later in the week he is hoping to do some baking and some science experiments and a bit of art! Have you got work to share? Please remember to email your class teacher... The finishing touches were added to our giant rainbow today. The children were treated to Easter cup cakes from a lovely parent and even managed to do some marvellous maths.
The sun managed to come out once again and there was time for watering the plants and a football was kicked around. #rainbows #bettertogether #IVJS #homelearning |
