This Week In School… Year 3 – have been practicing and performing their class assembly this week and what an assembly it was! In Science, they have been looking at the 7 different ways of dispersing seeds and have been looking at time in Maths. Year 4 – have begun investigating the genre of fantasy writing in the lead up to writing their own fantasy narrative. In Maths, they have been exploring symmetry and trying really hard to replicate patterns across the mirror line. In Science, they have explored what will happen if a predator is removed from a food chain and what happens to the chain next. Year 5 – have begun exploring decimals in Maths; they are learning to add and subtract different numbers below 1. In Science, they have been continuing to work on their yearend projects about the life cycle of humans (and so far they are looking beautiful). In English, they started a fun class project where we will be making live action news reports based on the story, "The Princess' Blanket". They are starting to wind down and prepare for Year 6 (which everyone is really excited about)! Year 6 – have spent a day at their new secondary schools as part of their transition from Primary to Secondary education; they came back with stories of lessons they had taken part in and new friends they had made. The children have also continued with rehearsals in preparation for their production and they enjoyed two Design Technology mornings where they looked at Chinese and German cookery as part of our Global Food topic. These mornings culminated in the children making spring rolls and pretzels! Comments are closed.
