This Week In School… Year 3 – have continued and completed their newspaper reports on the IVJS “intruder”. The children were amazing detectives and found lots of clues to help them discover who this mysterious “intruder” could be... You will have to ask Year 3 which famous person it could be! In Maths, they have been exploring measures. Year 4 – have been trying to persuade people to recycle their plastic in a leaflet for their English project. In Maths, they have been using communicative and distribution law to help us solve multiplication problems. In Humanities, they have used their research skills to find out about different African countries. In Science, they have been looking at how low and high pitch is created. In Computing, they have been discussing how we can protect our computers against malware. Year 5 – have been reading the story of Odysseus and The Cyclops, continuing the theme of ancient Greeks. In Art, they are beginning to design their own Greek pots whilst learning about the ancient Greeks in History. Phew! That’s a lot of information… I must admit, it’s all Greek to me. Year 6 – have been finalising and publishing their newspaper reports about Kester's escape (linked to the book, The Last Wild) in English. The children have also started their new Humanities topic about South America and their new RE topic, Rites of Passage. They have started Guided Reading groups where they will be looking at the techniques required in order to make them more fluent readers and to improve their comprehension skills. Comments are closed.
