This Week In School… Year 3 – have started reading their new class book, Gregory Cool and are planning a biography about him. In Maths, they have been looking at money and finding change. They have also explored Stonehenge, how it was built, it’s purpose and relevance today. Year 4 – have been completing their non-chronological reports based on their chosen animal and inspired by their book this term, Mouse, Bird, Snake, Wolf. In Maths, they have been converting between seconds, minutes, hours, months and years. In Humanities, they have been re-enacting the Roman invasion of Britain using their knowledge of the structure of the Roman Army. For Science, they have been exploring how to use a classification key to sort animals into groups like mammals, reptiles etc. Year 5 – have been creating alternative endings to their class book, The Princess’ Blanket, working really hard to include all the features from their success criteria. They have also been investigating measurement, comparing the scales we measure by and converting between them. Year 6 – have worked hard to produce some great leaflets about the environment and the effect of pollution on the planet. They have continued learning about the Maya civilisation in Humanities and have looked at the journey nutrients and water take through our bodies when learning about the digestive system in Science. The children have also started proper rehearsals for their upcoming production: Our Greatest Show. It's early days but they are already looking good and sounding great! Comments are closed.
