Our school have been chosen by the Department for Education’s Testing Standards Agency (the government department tasked with issuing and setting the tests taken by school age children) to trial some national curriculum tests. This will be part of their national sample to make sure that the tests themselves are valid, reliable and at the appropriate difficulty to accurately assess the children’s knowledge. Please note, the Testing Standards agency are looking at assessing the tests themselves, not the children and the results from these tests will not appear anywhere except for the Agencies review of the test. They will not be recorded against any of the children taking part in the trial. The school’s participation in the trial is statutory meaning we are required to take part however this will not affect your child’s upcoming tests nor will the children taking part be judged on the results. The tests that our school has been chosen to trial will take place on Thursday 2nd May and are maths based tests. Your children should come in as normal. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Clifford who is our school’s representative to deal with the Testing Standards Agency. Comments are closed.
