Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach the end of a most unusual school year, I wanted to write to you on behalf of the Governing Board, to thank you for your support for the School this year. Over the year, our children have had a lot to deal with, including the national lockdown in the spring term, and the periods when it has been necessary to send year groups home. Under Miss Digweed’s leadership, the School’s staff have worked incredibly hard maintaining teaching during the lockdown, implementing covid-safe procedures, and helping children with both their learning and their wellbeing. We know this has also been a difficult time for parents and carers, and we are truly grateful to you for all you have done to support your children and the School. Although governors have not been able to make their usual visits to the school this year, we receive regular reports from the School’s Senior Leadership Team. I think that children, staff and parents should all be very proud of the high standards of behaviour which children have maintained this year, and the impressive progress in making up for lost learning following lockdown. The school has plans in place to continue the catch-up effort next year. It is always important for the Governing Board to hear first-hand from parents and carers what the School is doing well and how things might be improved. Please do take a moment to complete our Parent Survey below. I am confident that the school can count on your continued support next year, when we can hope for some movement towards normality. I would particularly ask for your support in encouraging high levels of attendance next year, which make such a difference to pupils’ progress. In the meantime, I wish the entire School community a fun and restful summer break. Best wishes Mark Vinall Chair of Governors Comments are closed.
