Communication Agreement
We require up to date contact details for each parent/guardian and any other relevant contacts for each pupil which are to be contacted via phone call in case of emergency, illness or any other relevant circumstance. These details are kept on our school system though we reserve the right to share this information with IVJS staff in cases of medical needs, i.e. ongoing medical conditions such as allergies/asthma.
We also aim to communicate with our parents via text and email to both help reduce our carbon footprint and ensure that parents receive all information the school need to communicate. We use the Eduspot systems for both text and emails communications (Teachers2Parents) and for the school’s online payment system (School Money). The system defaults all communications to the contact deemed as priority 1 on the school records (taken from the admission form from the parent’s new starter pack).
We contact parents via text (and occasionally paper copies of letters should they have a permission slip to be returned) about school letters, newsletters and upcoming information/dates to be aware of etc however we do occasion send information from third parties. Any information sent from any other sources are only done so once the school deem it acceptable content. These tend to be letters/newsletters from FISA (our PTA group) or external companies who are running clubs.
In line with the latest Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) that sit alongside the Data Protection Act and the GDPR, we require permission to use your phone number and/or email address for the purposes of receiving text messages and emails from IVJS.
