This Week In School…
Year 3 – have continued their learning around fractions and have been finding unit and non-unit fractions of numbers, applying this to a range of problems. In English, they have begun writing instructions for Oliver on how to create an amazing seawig! They have also worked hard across the curriculum, learning about reflection in Science, Africa in Humanities and impressionism in Art!
Year 4 – have finished writing their own Norse Myths based on the story of Thor and his Mighty Hammer. In Maths, they have begun working on finding the decimal equivalents of fractions. In Geography, they have looked at Eastern Africa and have produced lots of work based around the country of Tanzania and the different things you can see and do there.
Year 5 – have been writing a book review on their class novel, Running on Empty in English. They have also been looking at multiplying fractions in Maths. Year 5 have also thoroughly enjoyed their morning on Thursday where they made houmous and falafel, everyone tried it and surprisingly, most loved it!
Year 6 – have been empathising with the main character of their class text ‘Rooftoppers’ in order to write a diary entry from their perspective. In addition, they have been practising their P4C skills and have been discussing the idea of true happiness. In Maths, they have been converting between different units of measurement and have been practising applying this skill to word problems.
