This Week In School… Year 3 – have begun writing their own 'Just So' stories using the story of The Heavenly Elephant. In Maths, they have been busy measuring the perimeter of shapes. Year 4 – have started reading their new book, Noah Barleywater Runs Away. In English, they have read about a crime Noah has committed and put on their own trials. Both classes found Noah guilty and have since started writing newspaper articles reporting on the trial. In Maths, they have been working hard with multiplication, have been multiplying by 10, 100 and 1000, finding factors and factor pairs and even scaling up and down building measurements! Year 5 – have been researching Epcot Theme Park in English to create some fantastic leaflets based on the park. In Maths, they have been practising long multiplication and many have been pushing themselves to try the Hearculean tasks! They have also been discussing types of bullying and discrimination in their PSHE lessons. Year 6 – have been starting their new half term topics. In Humanities, they are now learning about rivers and this week, found out all about the water cycle. DT is also linked to the rivers topic and is about bridges. They enjoyed a DT lesson making and testing different cross sections of beams and pillars. In Science, the children are learning about light while in RE, they are learning about crucifixion.
