This year we have chosen to be part of the Buckinghamshire Energize performance at the Wycombe Swan. This is an opportunity for children in Y3 to participate in a collaborative performance with pupils from other schools in the county that will be performed on two nights at the theatre in High Wycombe.
Click here to view the full letter. We are pleased to announce that FISA has organised a clothes & shoe collection with Bag2School in order to raise funds for Iver Village Infant and Junior schools.
Bag2School is the UK’s leading textile recycler and fundraiser working with schools and since its inception in 2001 it has now paid out over £27 million. As well as raising vitally needed funds for FISA, it also helps the environment by helping to divert unwanted textiles away from landfill. A recent DEFRA report has shown that textile collection schemes are helping to reduce the volume of textiles discarded as municipal solid waste. However it is a fact that as a nation we still send 350,000 tonnes of textiles to landfill every year. Click here to view the full letter. As part of the Science curriculum, Year 6 have been learning about light, how we see things and the eye. In order to help the children to better understand how the eye works, we have an exciting lesson planned for this Friday, World Science Day.

Year 3 – have been working hard learning their multiplications and the expanded method. They have been enjoying writing a formal, persuasive letter using the Iron Man story. Year 4 – have been working hard on perimeter in Maths. In English, they have been introduced to the book Varjak Paw and have used drama to infer their characters with thoughts and feelings. Year 5 – have been learning to use formal method to multiply in Maths. In English, they have been writing an explanation text on the Mentos and Coke Experiment. They have also had a fun and exciting Anglo-Saxon afternoon. Year 6 – have started reading a great new text this half term called The Last Wild by Piers Torday and are already producing some excellent writing linked to it. They also learnt lots from their Maya Morning and were able to handle and discuss some great artefacts. Click here for this week's bulletin. During this term, we are looking for children who are interested in joining our school choir. We will be running the choir club Tuesday lunchtimes from 12.45 – 1.15pm.
