On Tuesday, Year 4 visited the beautiful Kew Gardens. Each class got to take part in an outdoors Maths lesson that had everyone using a variety of skills from navigating a compass, to measuring the girth of a tree and finding the perimeter of jagged edged leaves. They also learnt that the trees that lose their leaves in the winter are called deciduous and the trees that keep them are called evergreens.
When they weren’t exploring Maths in nature, they were testing out Kew Gardens’ new children’s adventure playground! It might have only been open four days but it definitely got the IVJS stamp of approval. Everyone loved it, including Miss Goodman who, at one point, could be found at the top of the climbing frame... Comments are closed.
