The first half term of the school year is now over and soon, all thoughts will be about the Christmas break. But before we get all caught up in wrapping paper and tinsel, let's take a quick look back on this half term and all the wonderful days we have had. There have been so many things have happened, from the Year 6 PGL trip to everyone becoming Superheroes for the day!
To start the new school year, we have started our own before and after school childcare clubs where the pupils can come and have some breakfast in the morning and play some games and in the evening s take part in a range of activities including weaving their own baskets, creating amazing floor murals or learning origami to name just a few things in the evenings after school! We have had some incredible assemblies, from the Rose Class assembly teaching us morals in a very entertaining way to the Eco-schools assemblies reminding us that the planet we live on takes care of us so we should be taking care if it! Upper school have been on this year's PGL trip (some Year 6) while others have taken part in Bikeability training to safely negotiate the busy roads on bikes. Some have also had the chance to run in the Hughenden Park run in Wycombe where they raced incredibly, we are so lucky to have such sporting talent within our school. Year 4 took a trip to Tesco in Gerrard's Cross to learn about food hygiene and where their food comes from (who knew milk doesn't just come from Tesco!). Thank you to the parent helpers who came with us on the day. Finally, we have had some amazing event days this half term including Prehistoric Day, Saxon Day and Superhero Day! We have learnt such a lot from our new friend Mildred, she has shown us just how people lived and worked so many years ago. Upper school even transformed our playground into the set of an epic Saxon battle! On Superhero Day we were reminded that everyone of us is super in our own way which led to some incredible art work, comics and even a poem from one of our Year 6's that was so good, it earned a place in the local paper. I'm exhausted thinking about it all already, I can't wait to see what next term has in store for us! See you all Tuesday! Comments are closed.
