This Week In School… Year 3 – have continued to work on creating an advert to persuade people to visit Iceland. In Maths, Year 3 have continued to work on telling the time, they have been focusing on using 12 and 24 hour time and solving real life problems. Year 4 – have been writing an informal letter in English, focussing on the use of expanded noun phrases and contractions. In Maths, they have been working on tenths and hundredths and the concept that a tenth and a hundredth is part of a whole number. Year 5 – have been writing a narrative based on the chapter called 'Cyclops' in their current book in English. The children are keen to retell this exciting chapter. In Maths, they have been using RUSAC to solve decimal word problems- this has been growing their brains! Year 6 – have been working hard planning and starting to draft newspaper reports about 'Varmints', which is linked to their new book. They have some great ideas and are looking forward to reading their finished reports. Year 6 have also been catching up with their Humanities topic of Rivers and have spent some time learning about the important uses of rivers in everyday life. Comments are closed.
