This Week In School… Year 3 – have had a very busy week this week with their practise assessments! They have started writing their own ‘Just So’ stories in English. In Science, they have started looking at muscles in the body and what makes up a muscle as well as making their own moving toys in DT! Year 4 – have been writing the next chapter of Noah Barleywater Runs Away, imagining what life was like for the old man as a child. In Maths, they have been looking at perimeter while in Science, they have been investigating switches and testing how quick a switch can be connected and reconnected in a circuit. In Humanities, they have been looking at hieroglyphics, decoding them and using them to write their own words. Year 5 – have started to learn about percentages and even how to find the percent of a number! They have also explored phases of the moon, created oil pastel drawings inspired by Peter Thorpe and had a class debate about which character in their book, Cosmic, should go to space! Kipling class also worked hard and had their class assembly which was a smashing success. Year 6 – have had a spelling, punctuation and grammar focus this week as they prepare for assessment week next week. The children have also been finishing writing the conclusions to their book, Rooftoppers - they can't wait to read their ideas for the ending. They have also been investigating different suspension bridges in DT and have looked at the various uses of rivers in Humanities. Comments are closed.
