This Week In School… Year 3 – have finished their adventure stories and have worked really hard with fractions, finding fractions of numbers! Year 4 – have begun to write letters to major supermarkets to persuade them to recycle plastic and to reduce their amount of waste. They are focussing on persuasive language and rhetorical questions. In Maths, they have begun learning about area of shapes. Year 5 – have completed their informal letter based on the book 'The Song from Somewhere Else'. They have had a resilient attitude when it came to adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators. In Science, they learnt about Galileo and how air resistance can be tested. They conducted their own experiment with air resistance; which material would make the perfect parachute. In History, they are learning about ancient Greek battles that included the Athenians and Spartans. Year 6 – have been working really hard to conclude their non-chronological report on red foxes. They have been really focused on this and are producing some interesting reports. The children were very lucky to receive a visit from our Chair of Governors, Mark Vinall, who presented an informative and enjoyable afternoon about our legal system. As a practicing solicitor and barrister, he was able to give them a great insight into the legal system and we were impressed with the questions and answers the children gave. Comments are closed.
