This Week In School… Year 3 – have worked hard in Maths to solve problems using the expanded method of addition. In English, they have explored poetry and begun to plan a descriptive poem about the changes of the Tin Forest. Year 4 – have started planning an adventure story about Varjak Paw’s journey outside of the house. In Maths, they have been working hard rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100, and 1000. They have used this skill to estimate the answer to addition and subtraction problems. In Art, they have looked at Tingatinga art and have planned and drawn their own versions ready to paint next lesson. Year 5 – have been rounding and ordering numbers in Maths, have written some wonderful poems based on their class story, have been sewing and stitching some lovely pieces in their DT lessons and even started their new Humanities project based on the country China! What a busy week! Year 6 – have had a busy week this week, with a visit from representatives of Heathrow Airport to deliver a coding session to the children on Tuesday morning; and also with a visit from Zoo Lab this morning as part of their Science topic, Evolution and Inheritance. As well as these two enjoyable events, the children have also been working hard on their writing as they have been publishing some story openers for a variety of genres.
