This Week In School… Year 3 – have been finishing their instructions on how to create a cool den for the main characters in their class story, Gregory and Lennox. In Maths, they have been practising finding the perimeter of different shapes, they also really enjoyed their first ever Sports Day at IVJS! Thank you Mr Hawkes! Year 4 – have been busy writing their very own fantasy story based on the book Bird Mouse Snake Wolf. They have taken the three main characters and taken them on a brand new adventure across different lands. In Maths, they have been practising their skills plotting and reading coordinates on a grid. They've even been outside and drawn large scale grids on the playground and written their own set of coordinates for each other to plot! In PSHE, they have discussed the importance of money and why we should keep track of spending then refreshed their knowledge about road safety as a result of the road resurfacing outside of school. Year 5 – have completed their DT unit by baking some delicious bread (with all sorts of different add-ins!) They have also worked very hard on their news reports for their book The Princess' Blanket, which they are going to start recording next week! In Science, they have been continuing their final projects by adding some more amazing facts about the life cycle to their information pages! Year 5 have had a very exciting week of projects, and they still managed to do an amazing job at Sports Day! Year 6 – have been working hard putting the finishing touches to their production, 'Our Greatest Show'. We are really impressed with how hard they have worked and how they have come on in rehearsals; we look forward to seeing the final production next week. The children have also finished learning about the Mayans this week and are in the process of doing their last piece of work linked to this, a leaflet detailing all they have learnt about this ancient civilization.
