Dear Parents
I hope you are all well and keeping safe. Thank you for all the kind messages you have been sending to teachers and posting on Facebook, we really appreciate them! These are unprecedented times and, like you, we are doing our very best to find a way through. It is, without any doubt, essential that we follow the Government’s guidelines and stay at home wherever possible. Please don’t take any risks and stay at home. Thank you to all the families who have been sending us examples of the things the children have been doing at home. We are delighted that so many of you are taking this opportunity to learn new skills and we would encourage you to try new things during this lockdown. Gardening, cooking and craft activities are just as important as Maths and English. We are now fast approaching our summer term and we are preparing some home learning tasks for the children. We have decided that each week we will put on our website activities for children to do. We will do our best to provide a Maths and English activity for each day and then a project for every week linked to something they would have been learning about in school. It is not expected for children to do a full day of learning so please don’t try to do any more than two tasks in a day. Remember that you and your child will need time to process what is going on in the world so please take time for yourselves and talk about the events that are unfolding around us. Reassure each other that it is ok to feel anxious and worried, and talk about how you feel. If you have any questions, or need help, please email the school office and we will get back to you as soon as we can. If you call the school and leave a message please be aware that we are not picking up these messages very regularly. We are missing every single one of you and I am missing seeing those smiley faces coming into school each morning. I can’t wait until we are back to normal and our school community is back to together. Please stay safe and I look forward to the time when we can all be back at IVJS. Take care, Comments are closed.
