Play Our Way are delighted to be returning to Iver Village Junior School to run the girls’ football club for years 4 - 6.
These sessions are designed for girls of all abilities, and will focus on skills, teamwork and most importantly having fun playing football. As a company we strive to empower girls to enjoy sport and get active in an engaging and safe environment. All sessions will be run by fully FA qualified, first aid trained and DBS checked coaches. The sessions will run on Wednesdays after school (3:15 - 4:15) for 10 weeks, with the price for the 10 week block being £60 per child, £6 per session.

​To all parents/carers of Iver Village Infants and Iver Village Junior Schools,
Last week, 28th November 2018, at the Infant school there was a parents’ meeting to discuss recent events at Iver Village Infant School and plans for the future.  Both Nicola Raher and Jill Digweed (the headteachers from the Infant and Junior schools) were in attendance along with Ben Dunne (Head of Strategic Improvement) from Buckinghamshire County Council and Stafford Salt the Infant School Chair of Governors.
Ben Dunne started the meeting by explaining who he was and that he was there to help.  The primary purpose of the meeting was to answer parents’ questions on recent events.  Ben explained that it was important for parents to know the future of their children’s education and that they would be consulted going forward.
It was agreed at the meeting that both schools would send out a letter to parents with the questions raised at the meeting to ensure everyone was kept fully informed.  Below are the questions that were asked and the answers that were given along with details on how both schools plan to work more closely in the future.

​As is tradition in Iver Village Junior School we have a party at the end of the calendar year to celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of the next.
This year, every year group will have their party on Wednesday 19th December, the last day of the school term. Any fantastic party needs food and we would be very grateful if you could help contribute. So that we don't get too much of one type we ask you to bring, please see your child's copy of of the letter to see what they have been asked to bring.

This Week In School…
Year 3 – have been learning all about the properties of 2D and 3D shapes in Maths. In English, they have been writing a persuasive letter to the Iron Man, trying to persuade him to help with Space Bat Angel Dragon. Now that’s a sentence! They have also had their lovely voices on loan to year 4, providing back up singing for the Year 4 production.
Year 4 – have been retelling the story of Varjak Paw from a different character's (Holly’s) perspective and writing it down as a narrative. They have been working hard to use descriptive language to help set the scene and describe the characters. 
In Maths, they have working on finding the perimeter and area of squares and rectangles. They have also been practising our times tables.
They have also had the little task of putting on the Lower School Production of 'The Inn Crowd'. 
Year 5 – have been hands on in many of their subject areas! In Science, they went outside and found out about chemical reactions by mixing vinegar and baking soda, and mentos and coke. In Maths, they jumped into long division and even learned a fun rap to help them remember the steps. Finally, they explored Ancient Greece through their very exciting Greek Day which was filled with art, food and fun.
Year 6 – have been undertaking their next round of assessments and we are very proud of the effort they have put in and of their positive attitude towards the tests.  In English, the children have started to draft their newspaper reports based on an outbreak of varmints in the UK!  They are continuing to learn about South America in Humanities and about micro-organisms in Science.

Year 5 celebrated their new topic with 'Greek Day' yesterday which was a huge success. They started their journey to Ancient Greece by partaking in some of the popular Greek arts. They made beautiful masks, which they then wore to present their Greek myth theatre. After that, they were hungry for a snack, so everyone tried some Greek delicacies including pita bread, tzatziki, feta cheese and yogurt. They ended the day finishing their art projects - Kipling class made Greek Pots and Morpurgo class made Greek Lyres.
The year group had such a wonderful time, thank you to the wonderful Miss Ghedia and Miss Naulls for organising such a wonderful day!  

A huge well done to everyone in Lower School who took part in this year's production! This year, the performance was called 'The Inn Crowd' which told the story of a group of disgruntled animals in a stable  watching the people of Bethlehem celebrate Census Day - Merry Census! They were up in arms and paws when they found out that their owner had let the last little square of space in the barn to a pregnant lady... This is starting to sound familiar...
Well done to the Year 4s who performed their roles beautifully and thank you to the Year 3s for helping with the singing!
