This Week In School… Year 3 – have discovered the mess left behind by a mysterious, fictional “visitor.” They have carried out their investigations using their Maths and English Skills to try and work out who it was. Hopefully, they will have concluded the investigation and worked out who it is next week! Year 4 – have read One Plastic Bag in English and have started planning a leaflet about recycling and plastic pollution. In Maths, they have been working out the perimeter of different shapes while in Computing, they have learnt the importance of not replying to SPAM emails in the first of their online safety lessons. Year 5 – have started to learn about Ancient Greece. In English, they have been writing a character description about Odysseus and in Humanities, they have been learning about where Greece is and learning some key facts. Year 6 – have been incredibly busy! At the start of the week, they were enthusiastically rehearsing their lines for their class assembly, which was presented to parents and the rest of the school on Thursday morning. Everyone spoke loudly, clearly and with fantastic confidence. Well done! During English, they have been writing a newspaper article reporting on a dramatic event which they have read about in the class text, ‘The Last Wild’. In Maths, they have continued to learn about fractions and have been converting them to their simplest form. On Friday morning, the whole school enjoyed the Primary Futures assembly, however, Year 6 were the lucky ones chosen to participate in a workshop with the volunteers! During this session, they found out more about the volunteer’s jobs including what skills and qualifications are needed to succeed in these careers. Comments are closed.
