This Week In School… Year 3 – have been writing about the journey of a pebble in English as it links to the work they are doing about rocks and soil in Science. In Maths, they have been ordering and comparing fractions and also looking at equivalent fractions. Year 4 – have been learning just how important it is to write precise instructions as they instructed Miss Rowe and Miss Booth how to make a jam sandwich. They then went on to write instructions about how to make their own Edward Tulane! In Maths, they have been collecting discrete and continuous data and turning the results into pictograms, bar charts and line graphs. In Science, they went on a woodlice hunt in order to observe their natural habitat before writing a fact file all about their habitats. Year 5 – have started writing their own creative narratives and the ideas coming out are fantastic! They have also been learning about Jane Goodall and coming up with ways that we can help animals and the environment. Year 6 – have been working hard as they continue to prepare for their SATs. The children have also enjoyed starting their new Art topic which is based on Pop Art - they have produced some effective onomatopoeia artwork having looked at the work of Pop Artist, Roy Lichtenstein. A special well done to Rowling class who took part in the testing trial and completed three maths tests. Comments are closed.
