I hope you find these useful and if you need any help ask your teacher via email and I will try and help. Mr Hawkes On Monday, seven children went to The Beaconsfield School to compete in a badminton tournament against nine other schools from around Bucks. The tournament was skill based, meaning that the children didn’t directly play other schools but competed in stations to gain the most points. IVJS played with outstanding teamwork throughout the afternoon and showed great respect and manners. With the tournament being skill based, IVJS had no idea how they compared with other schools until the end. IVJS ended up coming third out of 12 teams! What an incredible achievement for a sport that the children had very limited experience in! Well done to all children who played! What a fun afternoon!
On Monday, IVJS played their first league game of the year against St Mary’s. IVJS played extremely well and conducted themselves impeccably in tough conditions and in a hostile situation. IVJS won the game 7-1 with goals from Ronnie (3), Connor (2) Myles and Paul. A very well done for the brilliant performances from Miles Clifford and Myles Taylor-James who played incredibly well and to man of the match Connor! Great start to the season! Year 5’s turn next week!
On Monday, a mixture of Year 5 and 6 girls competed in a girls only football tournament held at Burnham Grammar school. IVJS where drawn into a tough group against Gerrard's Cross, Burnham Grammar (Year 7 team), Lent Rise and Holtspur. IVJS beat Burnham Grammar and Lent Rise 1-0 and 3-0 respectively. This put IVJS into a 5th place play off against Farnham Common. IVJS unfortunately lost 2-1 in the play off, putting us 6th overall out of twelve schools. Well done to all who played but especially to Mysha who played like Messi all afternoon and to Millie who showed tremendous amounts of respect and sportsmanship to other schools and made us all very proud. Well done girls!
