Many of us will be very excited for Sunday night, with England in the finals of the Euros. We understand many of our pupils will be staying up very late to watch so we have decided to offer a later start for pupils.
School will still open for Breakfast Club and classes start at 8.40/8.50am as normal however children arriving up until 10.30am will not be marked as late. We would rather the children come in to school awake and ready to learn rather than too tired to come in. It’s been 55 years since England reached a major final so this is a great opportunity for them to watch and talk about pride, resilience and the possibility of disappointment. Come on England! From September 2021, Energy Kidz will be providing our wraparound childcare. The club will be held on our school site and offer places to children from both the Infant and Junior schools. This means that we will be able to extend the hours offered. All bookings and payments will be made directly through Energy Kidz. On the morning of Monday 17th May, we are inviting parents to bring their children into school, at individual time slots, so that they can take their Lateral Flow Tests before leaving for PGL. We have chosen individual time slots as to avoid crowding.
You will shortly receive a text message with a specific time slot for you to arrive on Monday, should there be any problem with the time allocated, please contact the school reception as soon as possible in order to rearrange your time slot. We are asking parents/guardians to bring the children to the front of the school, help their child administer the Lateral Flow test and wait with their child for thirty minutes for the results. Children with a negative result will then be invited into school to join the rest of the group going to PGL. Please remember to order and bring your own Lateral Flow Test for your child. Details of how you can get hold of more Lateral Flow Test kits can be found here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing/regular-rapid-coronavirus-tests-if-you-do-not-have-symptoms/

Thank you to everyone who has already submitted a response. We’re taking part in Sustrans Big Pedal 2021, the UK’s largest inter-school cycling, walking, wheeling and scooting challenge. The challenge runs from 19 April to 30 April. It’s free and we would love everyone to be involved.
Please help us encourage the children to take active journeys to school on as many days as possible during the event, and join them on their way! Why we are taking part - Sustrans Big Pedal is a great way to get children active, which is important for physical health and mental wellbeing. Active school runs also help to reduce congestion and air pollution outside the school gate. Covid-19 has made active travel to school even more important. The Department for Education have said encouraging active travel to school helps “to enable pupils to be physically active while encouraging physical distancing.” We are delighted to announce that Mrs Chapman-Allen will be working across both the Iver Village Infant and Junior schools from this week as Inclusion manager for both schools.
We hope that this will increase our ability to ensure all the children meet their full potential even more as well as making transition between schools, even smoother for our children. Kindest regards, Miss Digweed |
