We have provisionally booked a 4-night residential visit to the Windmill Hill near Hailsham, Sussex from Monday 15th October – Friday 19th October 2018. We currently have limited spaces available and will be open to deposits until 31st January 2018. The visit includes a full programme of activities and is similar to those we have run in the past. The group will be accompanied by teaching staff from the school and fully qualified instructors at the centre supervise each activity. Whilst the trip is not essential for curriculum purposes, it provides an excellent opportunity for children to extend their learning and to refine their personal and social skills. A meeting for parents giving detailed arrangements will be held nearer the time. Please see the links to the curriculum newsletters for the Spring Term below. Please note, these have been sent out as paper copies to the pupils.
As part of our focus on promoting the love of reading, we will be visited by the Hobgoblin Theatre Company on Monday 15th January who will entertain us with an engaging performance of The Unusual Adventures of Robin Hood. It promises to be a fun, modern and amusing twist on the classic tale. The Hobgoblin Theatre Company is one of the UK's best loved touring theatre companies for schools who are committed to bringing entertaining, original theatre into schools. On Friday 23rd February 2018, our Year 5 classes will be visiting the London Science Museum to see the Space Gallery, the Science Wonderlabs and to watch ‘A Beautiful Planet 3D’ at the Museum’s IMAX cinema. The coach will be leaving school at 9.00am and returning to school by 3.15pm. Children will need to be in school uniform and bring a packed lunch with a water bottle. Happy New Year and welcome back! We hope you all had a lovely break and it’s lovely to see you all back refreshed and ready to go! We would like to remind everyone that starting this term, children who are not picked up at 3.15pm will stay in their classrooms until 3.30pm, then they will be taken to Bluebells club. Children will not wait at reception or in the school library after school and there will be a charge if your child is collected after 3.30pm. You can also book online for Early birds and Bluebells for the spring term through our website. Children who are not booked into Bluebells will incur extra fees. For last minute bookings, you are welcome to call the school reception to book. The dates for the Spring Term are now available on the website.
